Frequently Asked Questions

We want to make the diagnostic evaluation and funding process as clear and transparent as possible.

The Evaluation Process

What can I expect during my child's autism evaluation?
Our early childhood autism evaluation is comprehensive and family-focused. It includes a clinical intake interview with parents to review developmental history, direct play-based clinical observation with your child using standardized tools, and standardized parent questionnaires. We conclude with a detailed feedback meeting to discuss results and provide you with a thorough clinical report containing tailored recommendations.
How long does the evaluation process take?
Typically, the entire process takes about 2 to 4 weeks from your child's direct assessment session to the final feedback meeting and delivery of the comprehensive clinical report. We make every effort to deliver reports promptly to ensure your child can access needed services without delay.
How old does my child need to be for an evaluation?
We specialize in early childhood evaluations, primarily focusing on young children between the ages of 18 months and 5 years. Early childhood is a critical window for neurodevelopment, and securing a clear diagnostic profile early helps connect your child to high-impact developmental and communication therapies.
Do you offer evaluations online?
We offer a combination of in-person and virtual sessions to provide a thorough and convenient evaluation. Parent intake interviews and feedback sessions are conducted remotely via our secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform, while direct clinical assessments are conducted in person to ensure the highest quality of care and observation.

Scholarships & Fees

Can I use my child's Step Up For Students scholarship?
Yes! EveryMind Collective is an approved Step Up For Students provider in Florida. You can utilize your child's Family Empowerment Scholarship for Unique Abilities (FES-UA) funding to cover the costs of our diagnostic evaluations and family support services. Please contact us directly, and we will walk you through the invoicing and reimbursement process.
Do you accept health insurance?
EveryMind Collective is not in-network with insurance companies at this time. However, we can provide you with a monthly statement (superbill) containing all required diagnostic and billing codes to submit to your insurance company for potential out-of-network reimbursement. We recommend calling your carrier beforehand to verify out-of-network neuropsychological/psychological evaluation benefits.
Do you offer financial hardship or reduced-fee evaluations?
We offer reduced-fee evaluations based on financial need, upon request.

Reevaluations & Support

Why does my child need an autism reevaluation?
It is helpful to get a developmental update to review progress and current functioning. Many insurance companies, school districts, and funding organizations (like Step Up For Students) require updated diagnostic documentation to authorize or continue funding for therapies like ABA, speech, or occupational therapy. Our reevaluations provide the required updated testing and progress reviews to maintain access to care.
What is the difference between an evaluation and a reevaluation?
A first-time evaluation is a comprehensive diagnostic process for a child with no prior autism diagnosis, focusing on developmental clarification. A reevaluation is a focused, targeted review for a child who already has an established autism diagnosis, aimed at measuring progress, updating diagnostic test scores, and revising support recommendations.
What happens after the evaluation is complete?
During our feedback meeting, we discuss the clinical findings and walk you through the practical next steps. This includes explaining how to utilize the report to secure school accommodations, coordinate with speech or occupational therapists, or authorize ABA therapy. As a parent of a neurodivergent child, our founder is dedicated to helping you navigate the transition from diagnostic answers to real-world advocacy.
